Samskrit Courses

Samskrit, one of the ancient languages, is now considered as a gateway to understand sacred ancient texts, hymns, dramas, etc. The following Samskrit courses are being offered in collaboration with Dr. Siva Panuganti and Dr Tilak Rao of MIT Indic Knowledge Studies (MIT IIKS), Pune with an intent to revive this language’s usage and to make modern individuals understand and gather information from ancient Shaashtras. Students who take all three below courses will also, in general, be able to pass the Samskrit Proficiency Test (SPT) with ease which is a pre-requisite to take MA in Ayurveda, offered by MIT IIKS. Samskrit 1 (3 Credits) Fees: $199 (INR 10,000 for Indian Students)

Overview: This course introduces students to the foundational elements of Samskrutam, encouraging a shift in thinking and cognition in the language.

Content:

  • Basic grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure in Samskrutam.
  • Introduction to conversational skills and reading comprehension in Samskrutam.
  • Emphasis on developing a thought process in Samskrutam.

Activities:

  • Interactive sessions focusing on language basics and conversational exercises.
  • Assignments stimulating thinking and communication in Samskrutam.

Samskrit 2 (3 Credits) Fees: $199 (INR 10,000 for Indian Students)

Overview: Building on the fundamentals, this course progresses to an intermediate level, expanding vocabulary and grammatical understanding in Samskrutam.

Content:

  • Intermediate-level grammar, syntax, and linguistic nuances in Samskrutam.
  • Advanced reading comprehension and writing exercises in Samskrutam.
  • Expanding vocabulary and enhancing fluency in communication.

Activities:

  • In-depth discussions and practical exercises to reinforce intermediate language skills.
  • Reading assignments and writing tasks to enhance proficiency.

Samskrit 3.0 (3 Credits) Fees: $199 (INR 10,000 for Indian Students)

Overview: This advanced course aims to further elevate students' proficiency in Samskrutam, focusing on intricate language aspects and advanced textual analysis.

Content:

  • Advanced grammar structures, complex sentence formations, and critical analysis of texts in Samskrutam.
  • Comprehensive study of classical texts and ancient Shaashtras.
  • Development of advanced reading, writing, and interpretational skills.

Activities:

  • In-depth analysis of classical texts and philosophical discussions in Samskrutam.
  • Presentations and debates on advanced topics related to ancient texts.
