Dr. Gauri Hardikar

Dr. Gauri Hardikar has over 20 years of experience in the field of teacher education. She recently opted for retirement as Associate Professor from a renowned college of teacher education in Mumbai to pursue her passion for life skills and impactful teacher education. She is a life skills education consultant and coach. She holds MSc. in Organic Chemistry, MA in Clinical Psychology and PhD in Education. She holds a Diploma in Business Management, Diploma in Advanced Counselling and Diploma in Experiential Education. She has been awarded the Gold Medal from the University of Mumbai for the M Ed program. She is a recognised PhD guide from the University of Mumbai. She is a certified NLP Master Practitioner and Coach. Gauri is passionate about propagation of life skills and impactful teacher education. Her doctoral research was in the area of development of life skills training modules for pre- service teachers. She is the Secretary for the Indian Association of Life Skills Education, a national association working in the area of training and research in Life Skills Education. She is also the Assistant Editor for the International Journal of Life Skills Education. Gauri is Guest Faculty for the Department of Education, University of Mumbai for Certificate course in Life Skills Education and Research Methodology. She was the Chairperson for the Syllabus committee of the Certificate Course in Life skills Education for the University of Mumbai. She is a member of the Universal Human Values Cell of the University of Mumbai. Her research interests include teacher education, life skills education, positive psychology, self-compassion, andragogy, youth development and comparative education. Gauri contributes to research and academic discourse through her role in international academic associations. She is on the Advisory board of the Her Highness Youth Organisation, Sri Lanka, which works in the area of empowering young girls in Sri Lanka. She is the Co-Editor, World Council of Comparative Education Societies Chronicle and has been the Co-Chair, World Council of Comparative Education Societies Journal and Chronicle Task Force. She is the Secretary of Indian Ocean Comparative Education Society, an international society working in the area of research in Comparative Education. She is also an ex-officio member of the World Council of Comparative Education Committee for the World Curriculum, an online global curriculum for secondary education. She was the Chair, Conference Organising Committee, for the 7th International Conference of the Indian Ocean Comparative Education Society co- convened with the 4th Symposium of the World Council for Comparative Education. She has been invited to chair sessions as well as present her views as a speaker in conferences in India and abroad. In the recent past, Gauri was invited as a Plenary Speaker for the International Symposium on Comparative Education organised by the International Bureau of Education (IBE), UNESCO at Geneva, Switzerland.
